Battery Cell Testing
Mission’s state-of-the-art battery laboratory enables the cell testing and characterization required to inform optimized decisions in cell selection. Mission works with the leading global cell suppliers, testing cells across pouch, prismatic can, and cylindrical form factors to identify the best cells for an application’s duty cycle, lifetime requirements, and thermal environment.
When minimizing mass matters, Mission’s proprietary technology for air cooling and mechanical packaging enables compact, lightweight energy storage solutions for electric and hybrid vehicles.
For demanding duty cycles and the broadest environmental conditions, liquid cooling solutions maximize cell charge/discharge rates and lifetime.
Mechanical Safety, Integrity, and Ingress Protection
Mission’s battery packs are built to pass rigorous UN 38.3, ISO 16750, SAE, and USABC abuse testing standards. Packs can be designed to meet environmental protection ratings from IP55 to IP67 as required.
Optimized Safety and Life Through Battery Management
Mission’s battery management system (BMS) employs stable, highly accurate state-of-charge, state-of-health, and state-of-power algorithms developed through extensive testing in our battery laboratory. The master pack management system instantaneously disconnects the high voltage system if it detects a fault at the system, pack, module, or cell level.
Mission’s energy storage systems are designed to meet 8-10 year warranty targets. During the vehicle development cycle, we gather laboratory and on-road data about drive cycle usage and cell degradation to optimize performance and meet the desired warranty period.
Once equipment is deployed in the field, managers can remotely monitor usage, performance, and system diagnostics using Mission’s Skyline data management system.
