Energy Storage

Mission’s energy storage systems give vehicle OEMs unprecedented performance and flexibility.

Compact and Lightweight

Mission’s proprietary technology for air-cooling and mechanically packaging lithium-ion pouch cells enables us to offer the most compact and lightweight energy storage solutions for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Scalable, Optimized Systems

Mission’s battery systems are built on a modular architecture, reducing complexity, cost and assembly time. Our systems are designed for large-format pouch cells and can incorporate a wide variety of lithium ion chemistries, enabling us to select the most appropriate cell for our customers’ applications.

Mechanical Safety, Integrity, and Ingress Protection

Mission’s custom air-cooled architecture reduces complexity and increases safety compared to liquid-cooled systems.  Our module packaging is built to pass rigorous UN 38.3, ISO 16750, and USABC/SAE abuse testing standards, and protects the cell pouch and tabs from corrosion by external air.  Our energy storage systems are capable of IP55-IP67 ratings.

Optimized Safety & Life Through Battery Management

Mission’s integrated battery management system employs stable, highly accurate state-of-charge, state-of-health, and state-of-power algorithms developed by Mission Motors through extensive testing in our battery laboratory.  Our master pack management system instantaneously disconnects the high voltage system if it detects a fault at the system, pack, module, or individual cell level.

Proven Reliability

Mission’s Energy Storage Systems are designed to meet 8-10 year, 100,000-150,000 mile warranty targets.  During the vehicle development cycle, we gather laboratory and on-road data about drive cycle usage and cell degradation to optimize performance and meet the desired warranty.
